Our lab approaches biology as an engineering discipline—one in which living systems can be measured, modeled, programmed, and redesigned for human health. We combine synthetic and systems biology with broader quantitative, computational, and bioengineering tools to understand how cells sense and respond to their environments and use those insights to design programmable cells, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
