Our lab approaches biology as an engineering discipline—one in which living systems can be measured, modeled, programmed, and redesigned for human health. We use synthetic biology and bioengineering approaches to understand how cells sense and respond to their environments and use those insights to design new medicines that ultimately improve outcomes for patients.
